False Eyelash Buying Guide

Purchasing false eyelashes can be extremely confusing. Most women have never bought eyelashes, and knowing which ones to pick out might seem impossible. Thankfully, finding the right eyelashes isn't just possible, it's quite simple! This eyelash buying guide will not only show you how to wear false eyelashes but how to choose the best false eyelashes that will make you feel as beautiful as can be!

Our eyelashes are designed for a natural look. Our customers are popular with brides and those who favor a natural look for everyday wear. Many of our customers are experiencing some sort of hair loss, whether it is due to cancer treatments, alopecia or trichotillomania. When you lose your eyelash hairs, you want to replace them with a natural looking eyelash so that no one will detect that you are wearing false eyelashes. If you are hoping to achieve a natural appearance, there is no better eyelash on the market than the Cardani Eyelashes we offer. There are several considerations when choosing and learning to wear false eyelashes. We will describe each in detail in this useful guide.

Volume

This refers to the thickness of the eyelash. For a natural look, we recommend a low to medium volume eyelashes. High volume lashes are appropriate for the runway or stage performances, but will not provide a natural look for everyday wear. They also tend to make the eyes look smaller.

Length

Refers to the length of the eyelashes. Our eyelashes range from 8 mm to 14 mm in length. Anything longer than 14 mm will most likely extend to your eyebrows. This will not provide a natural appearance. Here are the categories of lengths we offer:

Understated:  Excellent for men or for women who desire an understated look.

Natural:  An excellent choice for women who want a natural look but want a little more definition to their eyes than understated eyelashes would allow.  An excellent all around length if you are unsure.

Medium:  An excellent choice for women who like a very natural mascara length eyelash.

Long:  An excellent choice for women who love long lashes and really want their eyes to stand out.  These are also ideal for any woman who wants a glamorous look on a special occasion, or women with large features.

Dramatic: These are eyelashes that extend longer than 14 mm. These are best for costume use and can often make the eyes appear smaller. We do not offer eyelashes in this category.

Style Guide

The following chart will guide you in choosing an eyelash with the appropriate length and volume.  The vertical column refers to the length of the eyelash. The horizontal columns refer to the volume or thickness of the eyelashes. Our style numbers are included in the appropriate boxes. For example, Eyelash #201 is in the box that intersects at "Understated Length" and "Low Volume". This means that Eyelash #201 is an understated, low volume eyelash. Decide what length and volume work best for you and use this chart as a guideline.

Color

We offer our eyelashes in 3 color options. Not every eyelash comes in all 3 colors. The "Natural Blend" color is unique to our Cardani Eyelashes.

Black: The go-to lash, black works for almost anyone and really defines the eye. For women with lighter hair colors, it will present as if you are wearing dark mascara.

Brown: For redheads or women with blonde hair, brown eyelashes can provide a look that is less harsh and more realistic.

Natural Blend: A beautiful blend of black and dark brown hairs that is painstakingly created by hand. This presents a natural appearance because the lighter hairs will catch light reflecting it back into the eyes.

Eye Shape

There are seven basic eye shapes: hooded, round, monolid, deep set, close set, wide set, and almond. Just like the same outfit will look different on different body types, the same set of eyelashes will have a different effect on each eye type. To choose the most flattering eyelashes, you must first determine the shape of you eyes.

Almond Shaped Eyes

The space between glamorous almond eyes is equal to the length of one eye, and the lid is visible when the eyes are open.

Celebrity Examples: Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, and Mila Kunis have almond shaped eyes.

Almost any type of eyelash will work well on almond shaped eyes. Experiment to see what works best for you.

You can wear any of our eyelashes. Select by your desired look and color

Deep Set Eyes

Deep set eyes are sunken into the eye socket, creating a shadow above the eye.

Celebrity Examples: Keira Knightly, Jennifer Aniston, and Kate Winslet have amazing deep set eyes.

Eyelashes that are longer in the center will help to push the eyes forward.

Round Eyes

The width and height of round eyes are roughly the same, giving a lovely circular appearance.

Celebrity Examples: Christina Ricci, Emmy Rossum, and Rachel McAdams sport gorgeous round eyes.

Thicker or higher volume eyelashes can make your eyes look smaller. Choose thinner eyelashes with a medium length.

201, 217, 220. 231, 232

Hooded Eyes

Hooded eyes are marked by a fold of skin overlapping the socket line.

Celebrity Examples: Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lawrence, and Blake Lively have stunning hooded eyes.

Eyelashes that are longer in the center help to open up and draw attention to the eye.

Close Set Eyes

In this wonderful eye shape, the space between the eyes is smaller than the length of the eye.

Celebrity Examples: Sarah Jessica Parker, Julianne Moore, and Julia Roberts have close set eyes.

Choose eyelashes that do not taper at the outer edges to give the appearance that the eyes are further apart.

 102, 108, 231, 232

Wide Set Eyes

In this eye shape, the space between the eyes is bigger than the length of one eye.

Celebrity Examples: Jackie O., Miranda Kerr, and Amanda Seyfried have lovely wide set eyes.

Eyelashes with longer lengths at the center (or inner edge or the eyelash) will bring the eyes closer together.

 101, 108, 232

Monolid

This beautiful eyeshape features a continuous lid with no fold along the socket line. It is most in men and women of Asian heritage.

Celebrity Examples: Sandra Oh and Lucy Liu have monolid eyes.

This type can wear a variety of styles so experiment to see what works best for you.

Bottom (Lower) Eyelashes

We have experimented with a variety of lower lashes over the years. We once offered several styles, but our Eyelash #118 was the clear winner. It's very natural looking and looks great on. This bottom lash can also be used to add subtle volume to your top lashes as well.
